What beautiful crisp sunny weather we had last week - isn't it glorious - a proper winter! Talking of which, we have just had our heating bill for the Village Hall and, like everyone else's fuel bills, it has gone up - this year by £200!
The Committee would like to take this opportunity of thanking the Panto Group for their very kind donation of £150. We are very grateful but, as you can see, this will be swallowed up in the extra fuel bill!
I am afraid I now have to apologise to you all. On the 3rd November, the Committee decided to revise the fees further for hiring the Hall, and I set out below the revised, and final, fees for the next year, commencing on the 1st December. We hope we have simplified things for those hiring the Hall, as follows:-
Meetings and classes (any time) £6.50 per hour
Dance, disco, party (any time) £9.00 per hour
Committee Room £4.00 per hour
From 12 midnight to 1.00 a.m. £17.00 per hour
Licence fee £20.00
Weddings £90.00
Once again, I must reiterate that if you intend to sell or even supply alcohol, you must complete a further form obtainable from Ros Kellow.
We are preparing a new booking form, which we trust will be easier to understand. Just one small point, I am informed by the Committee that our hiring fees have not been raised for at least three years, so we hope that you will understand the need for the increase now.
The Dining Club have asked me to remind everyone that transport can be provided if you are not able to attend Dining Club on a Wednesday because of incapacity. Please contact Gill Ellis on 01380 724692 if you would like to attend, but are unable to get there. Our team of drivers will be very happy indeed to call and collect you and return you home when you are fully satiated with a lovely meal.
It just remains for me to wish you all a very happy Christmas, and to remind you that our Murder Mystery will be held on the 28th January, so please make sure you make this the first date you put in your 2006 diary!
