• Speed Guns for Volunteers: Wiltshire Constabulary are not participating in this project. Wiltshire Police feel they are better off using a Police Officer in the parishes.
• Flashing speed reduction signs: The Parish Council have already approached Wiltshire County Council requesting a speed reduction sign on Church Corner, which would have been paid for by the Parish Council but were turned down by the County Council.
• Crown Place and Motorcyclist using the footpath: WPC Loveys has said that she will patrol the area and any information as to the time of day etc., that motorcyclists use this path would be helpful.
• Vandalism at Blounts Court Play Area: WPC Loveys is patrolling this area now on a regular basis following a spate of vandalism that cost the parish several hundred pounds.
• Youth Club break ins: Mr Brown reported that the youth club had been broken into several times, although he had boarded up windows. WPC Loveys will keep a watchful eye.
• Round-a-bout & Zebra Crossing: The Parish Council and members of the public expressed their continuing concerns about the location and signing of the round-a-bout & zebra crossing at Silver Street. WPC Loveys suggested that all accidents and near misses could be reported to the Highway Authority to strengthen the case improvements in the area.

Duck Street handrail : Wiltshire County Council have said that the broken handrail on the steps at Duck Street is the responsibility of the householder not Wiltshire County Council as they did not install the handrail and it is on private land. . The Clerk was asked to write to the adjacent landowners asking them to repair the broken handrail.

Bell Inn : Two members of the public asked if the Bell Inn car park could be tided up. It was explained that it was private property and the Parish Council could only write and ask for the area to be tidied.

Highlands Wall : Members of the public present asked if something could be done to tidy up the wall that is adjacent to the footpath on the A360 and Highlands Estate. It was explained that the Parish Council has done extensive research into the ownership of this wall. Parts of the wall are owned by the adjacent landowners who properties back onto the A360 and some areas have never been transferred through the land registry system and therefore no-one can be traced as to owning a few odd ones.

Whistley Road Stream : This water course is in need of clearing again and the Clerk was asked to write to Kennet and ask them to carry out this task.

Light in Bus shelter: It was reported that the light in the bus shelter at the top of Blackberry Lane was not working.

KDC : Community Cleansing Grant: As part of Kennet District Councils review of grants it was decided at the Environmental Services Committee in March to amend the Parish Litter Grant scheme. Apart from the name change, the main thrust of the grant is that aid is only valid 'on cleansing, litter removal or prevention within the community'. An application for the period 2004/05 had been enclosed and the Parish Council decided to apply for a grant again next year.

Kennet & N.Wilts NHS : Revised opening hours Minor Injury Unit - Devizes Community Hospital: As from the 1st October 2003 the minor injuries unit at Devizes Community Hospital will be revising its opening hours from a 24 hour service to opening hours of 8.00am to 10.00pm every day. Between 10.00pm and 8.00am advice regarding injuries can be obtained by telephoning the Minor Injuries Unit at Chippenham Community Hospital on 01249 456403. A 24hour service is available at Chippenham and Trowbridge hospitals. 24 hour Accident and Emergency units with x-ray and emergency facilities are available at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, Salisbury District Hospital and Great Western Hospital in Swindon.

KDC Environment and Amenity Services: The 'one-stop' contact centre is now well established and important aspect of this new service is the introduction of Area Officers to provide interface between this section and the community. Mr R Hussey is the area officer for the Devizes sector, which includes Potterne. KDC & WCC : Ownership of land adjacent to the footpath between Silver Street & Coxhill Lane: Letters have been received by both Wiltshire County Council and Kennet District Council who say that they do not own the land either side of the footpath 126, which is the path between Silver Street and Coxhill Lane.
