Blounts Court Play area: The Parish Councils insurance company have given permission to go ahead and repair the damaged fence to the play area. The Parish Council will have to pay the first £100 excess.

Village Hall : Mrs Goddard, as Chairman of the Village Hall Committee reported that funding was being sought from a number of sources to replace the windows in the caretakers cottage. Quotations of up to £8,000 had been received to replace the windows.

Honorariums: Mr Hoddinott informed the Council that honorariums should not be paid annually. Honorariums were a one off payment. The Parish Council will need to look into way that some minor works are carried out throughout the year. Mr Hoddinott suggested that the Burial and Property Maintenance Committee look at this when they next meet.

KDC: Kerbside Paper Recycling Service: Kennet District Council are in a position to extend their kerbside paper recycling collection service and have invited Parish Councils to send a representative to a briefing about the scheme. Mr McCormick will attend on behalf of the Parish on 18th November and report to the next meeting.

Worton P C : Potterne to Worton Road: A letter from Worton Parish Council had been received requesting the support of Potterne in trying to get a 7.5 tonne weight restriction limit on the Worton to Potterne Road. Heavy vehicles are seriously damaging this narrow road with the surface being continuously damaged. Potterne Parish Council are happy to support this request, but would not want to see any disruption in the vital bus service that uses this road.

Post Office: Proposed branch closures: Mr Hoddinott and Mrs Goddard had attended a meeting on behalf of the Parish Council and reported back. The meeting was arranged to discuss the closure of Post Offices in the Devizes area, namely Eastleigh Road and Cannings Hill.

KDC: Sustainable Development: A letter from KDC suggested that Mr John Sutton, Sustainable Development Manager, KDC attend a Parish Council meeting to give a short presentation on Kennet's commitment to Sustainable Development. Mr Hoddinott suggested that the Clerk contact Mr Sutton to suggest that several parishes get together to listen to the presentation.

Handrail on Court Hill: A letter has been received from Wiltshire County Council in response to the Parish Councils letter requesting further information as to when a handrail that has been promised by Wiltshire County is to be installed on the raised section of Court Hill footpath. Mr Cross informed the Parish that funds for this work were not available this year or the next (2005/06) The site will remain on their list should funds become available.
